Denver Home of the Day – April 18, 2016

1180 S Milwaukee St Denver CO 80210| $1,450,000| 4,745 Sq Ft |            4 Bedrooms,  5 Bathrooms

As more new and modern homes are being built in Denver, they start to look very similar. This home is an exception. Look at those ceilings! (My best guess is it is cedar). Not only does this home have features that make it different from other homes, it also has all the amenities. An updated kitchen and butler’s closet with all the upgrades. A luxurious master suite with its own fireplace. The large finished basement and wine cellar perfect for lounging or entertaining.

How to find the pendant for your home.

Pendants pack a big punch in any room. They aften seen in kitchens but can be in any room – living room, bedroom, office, etc. Since pendants hang from the ceiling, the eye goes directly to it when your walk in the room. Therefore, pendants hold a lot weight in a room and can dictate the feel of a room.

There are so many different styles and shapes of pendants that it can be an overwhelming decision. Here are a few ways to pick of the best pendant for your home.

1. Size. How big does it need to be?

If you have a large room, for the pendant to be scale, you will need a large size (or multiples filling up a large space). If the opposite is true, you will need a smaller pendant.

2. What style is the home?

The pendant should be of a similar style of the home.

3. Since the pendant is often the first thing the eyes hit in a room, use the pendant as a talking piece. Let it be unique and showcase your personality.

4. Consider other lighting in the room. To avoid the room feeling too busy, you would want to create a feeling of continuity.

5. Be purposeful. Remember it is a light and it serves a purpose of providing light.

My iPhone addiction

My name is Elizabeth Daigle and I am addicted to my iPhone.

No lie.

I am so addicted that my hand will hurt for days because I have been texting or navigating the web on my phone too frequently. How frequently do you need to do that for your hand to hurt, you ask? Must be a lot. Although, I have no conscious idea how much I do it because my cell phone has become somewhat of a fifth appendage.

Or the weekly (scratch that, daily panic) that I have that lost my phone. The initial shock of not knowing where my phone is and my first thought is not where I last was but what will happen if I did lose it this time around. “I’ll all my client’s phone numbers!” “How will anyone reach me?” Relief sets in when I find my phone. Most likely found at the bottom of my purse, big enough to serve as a suitcase on my next vacation….

I have tried to find a solution to this, especially to aide the physical pain I often feel in my hand. Nothing has quite worked. I keep testing out solutions at no avail. The best thing I have found is to physically hide my phone OR turn it on ‘airplane’ mode. Although, I always end up back shortly after, like a junkie, with my phone in my palm. A permaneant solution is no longer reality as I need my phone for not only social reasons but professional.

Does anyone else struggle with this? What have you found to work?
