For a great happy hour, LoHi is the place to be. There is a wide selection of bars and taverns where you can kick back and relax after a day of work downtown. The best part? The location is close to home, so you won’t even have to deal with the traffic. Here are some of the preferred spots in LoHi.
The Ale House at Amato’s is known for serving Colorado craft beer. They are owned by Breckenridge Brewery and Wynkoop Brewing Co., who essentially started the Colorado craft beer craze. You can stop by for happy hour every day of the week from 4-6pm–And if you miss that one, there’s another happy hour from 10pm-close. True to Denver style, you will find that all of their ingredients are sourced locally when possible.
This brewery on 19th St. is famous for its award-winning, fine German craft beer. Prost Brewing Co. takes its German style seriously–all of their ingredients come from Germany, and they even imported a copper brewing system from Germany that was part of a brewery in 1642. All the locals who love German-style beer come here for a drink. They don’t have a happy hour, but every Monday you can enjoy their 2 for 1 drink special all day long.
Looking for more food? The Highland Tavern is the place for you. They were featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri, who rated their tater tots and sandwiches as some of the best bar food around. You can enjoy their happy hour every day from 4-7pm. And if you’re looking for a little more fun, they have a foosball tournament every 1st Thursday of the month–a great opportunity for you to meet some of your neighbors and get to know the community.
If you’re looking for an even more upscale experience, check out the Truffle Table. Here, you can take a seat after the long work day and enjoy a plate of meat and cheese with a glass of wine. They’ve got happy hour on Tuesday-Friday and Sunday from 4-6pm, as well as on Saturday from 11am-6pm.
